recommended reading for year 7 boy, reluctant reader

any good ideas? he didn't get into the cherub series, only seems to like fact books or cartoon books. needs to have something to read at school, but tends to get half way through books and then give up

I wanted to say a massive thank at whoever suggested the Pig Heart boy. Couldn't find it anywhere in Australia, ordered it online. My DS1 got hocked the very minute he opened it (of course moaning, oh mum all the books who give me are crap) and didn't stop until he finished it the very same day.

Also wanted to add Hatchet to the suggestions. And I would love to receive more!
It is hard to compete with the immediate and powerful entertainment offered by all the electronics.
