Hi my dd is off in Sept and is getting very excited! She is making her very long list of these she wants to take. Rooms are being randomly allocated in Aug but she is hoping for a single en-suite in halls. She wants pin boards, magnetic pins etc but I am guessing they cant fix things onto walls? Her rooms here is full of stuff stuck on walls........told her she wont be able to do that. Apart from the usual kitchen stuff/bedding etc what would be useful? Thank you :)

helenluvsrob is right, hall rooms are tiny, there is no need to take the kitchen sink. Most 18 year olds quite like shopping and there is a full range of shops in most university towns. I recognise the urge to give your kids all the comforts of home and the benefits of your experience ( been there certainly) - but how about giving her a couple of extra quid and letting her enjoy kitting herself out?
DS1 has just finished and quite enjoyed being able to move in his rooms Grin

Plastic box containing basic first aid and medicine. Another bigger one with kitchen drawer stuff like sticky tape, blutac, scissors, stamps, a little torch, corkscrew, spare light bulb, screwdrivers, emergency tenner.
