Summer vacation ideas for 14 YO with broken arm

Ds had only been out less than 30 minutes from school when he broke his arm (leaping over some p.e. mats at school and tripping).

I had signed him up for climbing classes that I've had to cancel, and all his friends are out of town. I've suggested him trying a new book series and he's not keen (but I'm really going to try to work on him with that one and take him to the library).

Outside of tv and video games, he is a bored zombie. The cast will be on for 4 weeks, starting yesterday. Any ideas to keep him occupied?! Thanks!

Why have you cancelled the climbing classes? I had a one armed, one legged friend who climbed.

Dog walking or baby sitting for a little pocket money? Would he be interested in learning a new language? Or learning to do computer programming? Museums?

Climbing with one arm would be a really bad idea with one arm in plaster. I have one functional arm, and its hard keeping it safely tucked away if I tried to do something like that.

How about some geocaching? The walk will get him out at least.

Being in plaster in summer is miserable. and initially at least he'll need to be careful to not allow his arm to swell up, which is easy to do in summer.

TBH, I'd let him binge watch some TV (even if you divert him to the Discovery channel for Fast n Loud and its like) and then plan lots of swimming etc for when the plaster comes off

Firstly, massive sympathy, dd did the same about this time of year a few weeks back. Be aware he probably won't be able to do sport for quite a while after the cast comes off (I guess it depends on the severity of the break, but dd was 6 weeks immobilised, but then another 6 weeks of physio and no sport - and her thing is swimming, not rugby, so pretty mellow as sports go!)
I'd suggest trying to get some paid work or volunteering to get him out of the house doing something positive - as a pp says, babysitting / parent's help / dog walking / watering plants for people on holiday, I'm sure there's lots of things you could do with a broken arm.
