Clothing "lost" in the wash?

Have you ever been tempted to lose an item of your dc's clothing that you hate.
I say this as dd has a skirt that I really dislike.
Its very short, wafty and like an old dish rag. She wears it occasionally but as its wafty and so short, her bum cheeks are frequently on show . Thats not the problem though. There is nothing wrong with short skirts. Dd has many and has a lovely figure so looks great but I just hate this particular one.
I sometimes think it might get "lost" in the washing. She would probably not notice as her room is such a tip and she is always leaving stuff at her friends anyway.
Obviously I'm just joking as that would make me a bad mother, or am I?

Nope, not a bad mother. I have resorted to losing DD1s favourite leggings in the wash, and managed to put it down to bring a slattern. "I'm sure they'll turn up eventually" usually works.

This was a few years ago and I got away with it then but dd is a bit more savvy now

I don't know of any parents who would think it is OK for their child to go around showing her bare bum to the world, never mind saying it isn't a problem.

Teens favourite pair of joggers have Very sadly got eaten by the washing machine over the holidays. He has many other branded expensive pairs that remained unworn in the drawer. He even has a pair exactly the same as unfortunate joggers but it's not the same

They were up to mid calf, faded, ripped and stained. He liked to wear them out the house a lot...shame

I do this...but then I am ruthless about something new in, something old/hardly worn out (So there is always plenty of drawer space so putting washing away is not a chore...)
Teen DD1 (15) doesn't really notice ...she would if it was one of her current favourites ...but apart from that she just doesn't...
DD2(9) though does notice more and hates letting things go.
Her classic was a jumper - she'd had it for 3 years - it was way too small, etc. I have bought her new ones - but she would still go to the drawer and pick out that jumper. When I suggested we got rid of it, she said I couldn't..she loved it.
So a month or so later I hid it - she asked after a week and I said it was 'in the wash' so she wore other jumpers, then after a month or so she asked me again and I told her I didn't know, hadn't seen it for a while - maybe she had left it somewhere? or it had got mixed up in the recycling? If she had been really upset - I would have 'found' it but she shrugged her shoulders and wore another one...never mentioned again...
(Same child used from age 4-5 used to hide clothes she didn't like under her bed/chest of drawers - I'd find them - and think they were dirty or she'd dropped them by accident and forgotten to pick them up - then it dawned on me they were always the same things. So we just got rid of everything she didn't want to wear...)

OK munchie. Dd does wear thick tights with said skirt and her bum is not really on show. Just trying to be lighthearted for a change.

sounds like she has plenty of clothes. Stop buying. And stop washing, time she learnt to do it.

Oh sometimes you can't win on MN! Whatever you say someone will take offense to it and criticise.
Anyway, guilty of losing a horrible bit of clothing here myself . Lighten up people. OP just trying to be amusing.

Put it in a very hot wash or tumble dry so it's completely ruined

I once accidentally let the colours mix in the wash with a rag and my sons favourite stripey t-shirt which I absolutely loathed. Alright this was horrendously mean but I had drunk about a bottle of wine on holiday. The bloody thing came out in a different colour stripe which didn't look too bad. Son threw a strop then realised he actually preferred the new colours. He still wears it.
