Has anyone used the cancellation checker for driving tests?

Didn't know where to post this, but figure as they can drive at 17 this might be a good place?!

There's a couple of websites that offer to find you a driving test cancellation, at a price of course, but that's fine if it works. The reviews look good, but I don't even trust reviews any more!

Have you used one and was it any good?

I don' t think you need to use an independent website, you can search for cancellations on the DVLA website. DS did this after a series of lessons, booked a test about 10 days away and then drove as much as possible beforehand. He passed. You just put in your licence/theory pass details and search for a cancellation.

I passed my test this way - through just checking the website. Don't pay extra for the checker.

My instructor was also really good and told me to do it this way. She asked me for my provisional license number and details and she would check it for me hourly. Trick is to always have the website open on your phone etc so you can keep refreshing.

DS paid I think £25 for the checker and it was brilliant - cancellations kept pinging up as soon as they happened and he was able to swoop in and get a slot very quickly. Well worth the money.

Thanks, I have the dvsa website open and keep refreshing when I can, but can't do it every 5 minutes like the checker sites do.

Yes I paid for it was much better than the website got instant texts when cancellations came in.

I found this thread while searching for people who have had as negative an experience as me regarding the testfinder.co.uk service. I just wanted to warn others of this scam website!

I paid the £18 for them to find me an earlier test date as I wanted to do it before my holiday. They didn't find me an earlier date, which is not my complaint as I understand these things happen, but upon trying to contact them to obtain a refund I have found it impossible to get a response from them. After many emails I started contacting them on Facebook, they promptly deleted all my comments and subsequently blocked me. So somebody monitors their page but refuses to answer to my messages.

It's only £18 but with over 800,000 driving tests done in the UK each year and an average 12 week waiting time, imagine how many other people they have ripped off and then deleted their comments?

Please do yourself a favour and find a different test finding company or search the dvla website yourself.

I paid for a similar service to Jen at SpeedyTests but they found my daughter three different dates. I highly recommend them, it's a one-time, lifetime fee too.

Its free to use all you do is keep checking and as it keeps you logged in to the DVLA website ,it will instantly update
if you decide to change your slot. Hope this helps someone.

DD just used the DVLA site, it's not as though they are not on their phones all the time. She got a cancellation slot for the next week within a day. Don't waste your money.

Would avoid Driving Test Cancellations 4 All. They gave a date, asked for payment (which I immediately made) but didn't book it. According to the girl on their customer services desk the slot had already been taken because there is a 3 HOUR DELAY between DVSA announcing the cancellation and 'driving test cancellations 4 all' notifying you of it. (apparently it's in the (very) small print). Took my money and I have no test :(
