DS 18 and older woman

DS 18 has been seeing a 30yo woman since Xmas, they both work at the same place bar/restaurant which is where they met. I wasn't exactly happy about this and have told him my feelings. I thought it would just fizzle out but things are starting to progress, he refers to her as his 'girlfriend' and stays at her house more often than home now. She also has a 4yo which she has introduced to DS.

I just can't get my head around it, I mean what would a 30yo woman want with an 18yr old boy? Surely at that age you want to be wined and dined and DS is not in situation where he can do that as he only works p/t and is at uni 3/4 days a week.

I'm just worried that he will tie himself down at such a young age and am disappointed that he is not going out and having 'fun' with girls his own age. To be honest he has never had a 'girlfriend' before and only had a few casual relationships in the last 8 months.

DH (not DS father) thinks I shouldn't intervene and let him make his own decisions.

Should I just 'butt out' and let it take its own course or should I have a serious chat with him and make him see sense?

No 18 year old, when told to see sense by his mother, ever did!

Let it be. They might actually make each other very happy.

Definitely leave them be. It's only been a matter of weeks. Any criticism/questioning from you will not go down well!

It'll fizzle out. The novelty will wear off for both of them. 12 years isn't a terribly big gap, but realistically it's usually unworkable when the younger one is a teenager.
