What have your 13/14 year olds done in the holidays?

Off 25 days so far:

Away for week with us, two days shopping with me, cooked once with me and has seen friends four times - I think she should be out seeing them more, but seems happy enough and has been messaging quite a few throughout the day. She seems happy doing her own thing - reading, art, music and bike rides (doesn't want to do many of my suggestions but at least she hasn't been on her ipad/laptop much other than messaging friends).

Off since 3rd July, ds14. Far too much gaming but also 12 days school trip trekking Poland, out with friends 4 times, drum lessons x 2, volunteering for DofE x 3, shopping with me, cinemas with me, cycled to village for haircut. 3 lunches out with family. Visit to watch Americas cup. Going sailing with friend next weekend 3 days and finally Portugal family holiday 10 days next week. Thought he hadn't done much but actually quite a lot written down.

All mine wants to do is hang out with his mates and troll people on FB.
He is on holiday with his dad atm and had a few days away with me and his brothers, for most of which he sulked and moaned.
We are going away again next week for a few days but he'll probably sulk through that too.
He refuses to come swimming or geocaching but will come shopping as it means he can trawl HMV and ponce about in front of teenage girls in town.

Broke up late, had two days at home but was busy with grandparent visit.

Then had one week away with me, then immediately dropped off to have another week with her dad. Got back late last night.

First full day at home today and she's so bored she's gone to bed at half seven!

This is the first summer that I have left her at home while I work. It's going to be interesting! I am leaving her a list of jobs to do tomorrow so that should occupy her for an hour or two.

DS1 broke up on July 8th. A few days of not doing much as his friends who live locally were all still at school. He did visit a couple friends from his school a couple of times but that was very much depending on lifts from myself or DP.
We all went camping for four days.
He has also done rugby academy for the past couple of tues/weds. Rugby camp next week for three days then he goes to majorca for a week with our family friends.

DS2 did camping also with us. Then we did an overnight in London/show. The following day he went out to stay with relatives in Austria for a week and since then he has been on a Stage Experience set up. Three weeks of drama school with a four night run of shows this week. After that he has very little on till he returns to school.

DP and I are exhausted with all the running around on top of working FT. I need a holiday

13y DD broke up on 10th July so has been off 30 days.

Week 1: went to stay with my parents from the Sunday as I was still at work. Enjoyed a couple of days with them, and then went up with my mum to visit my sister and little nephew - she enjoyed some days helping babysit. I went up and got her Thursday night. We then went to a concert on the Friday.

Week 2&3 - fortnight holiday with me and dh, met up with friends inc one of her best friends for second week away.

Week 4 - park with friends, town with other friend, film watching with me and on her own, playing Sims, met up with her godmum and her son (same age) with me for lunch, weekend activities with me and dh inc meeting up with family friends

Week 5 - today a couple of friends have been round, and one is staying over. Tomorrow& Wednesday she is staying with friends - they are camping out in one of their gardens. Thursday - we are both meeting up with family friends. May have friends round Fri or Sat for dinner/chat. Sunday we have a party we are all invited to.

Week 6 - not much planned yet

Week 7 - me and DD are going away with a friend and her girls (friends of dd) for 5 days.

Week 8 - not sure yet. I go back on Tuesday but dd is off for the week.

Scotland here so Ds broke up end of June and has endured weeks of solid rain. He has done very little other than Xbox, one boat trip on the Loch, one boring visit to Deep Sea World and a few aimless kick abouts in the park with his mates. It's been a rubbish holiday for him. He might actually be glad to get back to school next week.

13 year old has worked all but three days of the holiday (broke up 17th July). Unfortunately she spends her money as fast as she earns it. 15 year old has spent every single day on the Play Station.

Piddle - what does your 13yo do? Mine would love to get a job but everywhere says you have to be 14. She has today agreed to do some voluntary work for the charity where I work, to try to build a bit of a CV in time for next summer.

First week didn't get dressed

From then on has been to sports camp every day.

Next week we're away for a week.

I haven't seen much of DS2 (13). He stays up late, rises late and goes out, then returns in the evening with or without a friend.
Loads of sleepovers here and elsewhere

Lots of sleeping in the first couple of weeks, but she seems to be catching up now.

She's met up with friends a few times, but most of them are away on holiday or visiting family. It's very quiet round here. Cooking, learning a new piano piece (and enjoying not having an exam to practice for), reading, watching too much TV. One day she spent almost the entire day colouring in one of those grown-up colouring pages and watching Big Bang Theory.

This week, she's on a watersports day camp and I'm very glad because she was definitely running out of things to do.

Ds broke up 9th July, think he only left his dungeon a couple of times to go to cinema. Taken him away now for a month long haul and doing lots of cycling, rafting and walking. Serves him right

My 13 year old is just beginning to find his holiday feet of freedom. He's now using youtube tutorials to learn to draw hair better, making candles for his friend by melting down crayons and adding essential oils and posting his sketches of Nicki Minaj on Instagram and being too excited to sleep all night last night because Nicki herself 'liked' one of them.

My 16 and 17 year olds, meanwhile, are keeping the sofa nice and warm, making a horrible mess, demanding money for clothes and moaning that there's 'never any food in the house'.

Occams we live in a holiday town so there is plenty of work at the start of the season for restaurants, chip shops etc. DD works waiting on in a hotel, she did thoroughly enjoy it but as she is only getting paid £3.50 an hour, the boss tends to ask her to work more hours than others who are better paid. For instance, on Monday she was in at 7.30 until 11 for breakfast, then back in again at 5.30 until 10.30pm. We know the child working hours are being broken but to be honest, everyone does it around here, and the jobs are only there from April to October.

Ds (14 in September) has been off since 4th July. Spent first week with friends, going to the cinema etc then was in France with me for a week where he did loads of outdoorsy stuff since then has spent far too much time gaming although he has seen family, come out for a couple of days and is off to Greece with his dad for ten days on Monday. Last week before school starts will be spent shopping for new school stuff and getting back into a routine.
