following on from "unhygienic teens", does everyone else suffer from the Lynx effect?

My ds is stinking the house out with the spray on Lynx stuff. He sprays it all over his body over his school uniform, despite repeatedly telling him a quick squirt in the armpits is enough.
Does anyone else have this prob? He's 12 & has no apparent interest in girls yet.

Oh God, welcome to my worldbleugh. My dss(17) has been abusing our noses with Lynx for the past 3 yrs now.
I was soo, soo, when they brought out that ad that said the more you spray the more girls will like you, yeuch.
thankfully my gay best friend has recently given him a bottle of some half decent afteshave that is much better but he still uses a ton of it.

it's when you get 4 of them in the car together with all the different smells

Yep, sprays it on his shirt rather than on his pits. He'll learn when he really stinks.

Anyone know of any spray on stuff which they'll use but doesn't make you want to barf?

truely vile imo, how do you get them to go easy on the da** stuff. Was warned about this about 15 years ago by someone i worked with and didn't really take it in - i do know what she meant now

DS1 uses Adidas but it still smells very strong.

Far far better than buying the Lynx and your 12 yr old ds never using it.
Is it a transition smell between manhood and puberty
I followed a bunch of school lads around supermarket the other day (by chance - I'm not a stalker) and the boy stench was exactly as ds smells...
Freud had a theory that the odor change was to stop mothers being sexually attracted to their teenage sons.
FWIW we buy at great expense proper perfume - like fahrenheit or joop in deodorant spray, one small spray and it's not hard on the nose - plus no propellents.

We used to get the Lynx effect but then DS2 started pinching DS1's proper smellies; he has his own now and it's much nicer!

CK1 is good, and Diesel - cost more than Lynx but really pleasant smells, and you can get them quite cheap in places like Bodycare - or you could get more expensive ones as Christmas pressies (DS1 likes Paul Smith London)

Lynx plus the stench of stale armpits - how worse a combination could he manage?

Have now bought him a roll on Mitchum extra strong antipersperant, which seems to stop the stench of sweat, but not gas us like the Lynx.
