Hiya all, I'm a bit worried about my 13 year old at the moment. She kept complaining of sore throat and feeling sick at the weekend thought it was just a cold or something but kept her off Monday as she did look quite pale. Monday evening and she hadn't eaten all day, had a look at her throat and she had loads of mouth ulcers and one on her throat! Anyway she was sick on Tuesday and Wednesday and saying she felt really dizzy, took her to the doctors and they are saying it's just because the mouth ulcers! She's now woke up this morning with a rash all over her and not even speaking she's that unwell. The schools moaning at me because she has been off all week and I really have no clue what's wrong with her! What would you all say it is?? Thank you and any advice will be much appreciated!

Hello everyone thankyou all for your lovely messages. Sorry I havent been on sooner its been a mad weekend! We were waiting up A&e for 4 hours then we finally got seen! Turns out she has a underline kidney infection! On strong antibiotics for a week to see if that helps. Got to go and have some blood tests just to check everything. She seems alot more herself now and I think the antibiotics has kicked in now. Would never have guessed it was a kidney infection but anyway its a nasty one!

I'm so glad she got treatment and is improving.

3littlefrogs · 17/05/2015 15:20

Please write to your GP practice manager.
They need to know how serious this was.
Make sure your DD gets proper follow up after this to ensure that her kidneys haven't been damaged.
You should ask for a copy of the hospital letter to see what follow up they recommend.

Strawberrybonbon3 · 17/05/2015 17:20

Thankyou marci and yes littlefrogs I will definitely be doing that, and yes I wont let the hospital treat us like the.doctors did!

So glad to hear she is feeling better and she is getting treatment xxx

dickhead3507 · 17/05/2015 18:57

Definitely
It's a relief going from the worry to 'theyre in safe hands '!

CoffeeBeanie · 17/05/2015 20:53

Glad she is on the mend Flowers

FructoseTart · 18/05/2015 15:58

Glad it's nothing too serious and she's on the mend

IPlayBass · 20/05/2015 11:21

I'm so glad she's okay. I'd also suggest writing to the practice manager at your gp surgery to let them know what happened. Missing something like this is very serious, and then for them not to see you on the Friday is very bad indeed.

Hi , I don't know if anyone else is going through the same as me , I have a 13 year old daughter who in Wednesday night took an overdose of 100 tramadol which she had been stealing off her dad for some time , we took her straight to a and e where they kept her in overnight and said the mental health team would come and asses her but no one came so I had to take her to the doctors yesterday just waiting for an appointment now which could take a few weeks , I'm at my whit's end and don't know how to make things better , it's tearing me up inside .

Kraggle · 30/05/2015 11:04

Cardie I recommend starting your own thread to get advice. Sorry about your dd, hope she is ok.

Alvah · 30/05/2015 12:36

Like Craggle said, start a new thread - more people will see it and you may find someone going through simular issues who could advice you.

Thinking of you and your daughter Flowers

Cardie - do start your own thread. Do you know how to do that?
Come back and ask if you are not sure.

Meanwhile, you need to ask your GP for the number of your local crisis team. Or google. You can't deal with this on your own.
