its all about him and anything else gets the scowl and rolling of eyes

its driving me fucking nuts, I talk to him about it and he's like "who cares", well I fucking care I tell him (without the sweary words) and he rolls his eyes like I make a big deal out of nothing

so fucking fucking annoying

Unfortunately because he is a teenager! Nash teeth and hope to get through it as quickly as possible, in the meantime, chocolate and wine are valid defenses

300Bananas · 28/03/2015 07:50

DD15 (16 in a few weeks) is also totally selfish. Its all about her and her life/friends. She is exactly the same with the scowling and the looks of annoyance whenever I invade her life and try to speak to her. I am struggling to find anything at all I like about her at the moment and apparently its my fault as its the way I have brought her up.

3catsandcounting · 28/03/2015 08:21

I have one of these, ssd! Everything revolves around her, her room's a bomb site (but it doesn't matter as it's her space!); she got her A level exams in a few weeks and done as little work as possible towards it ("it's my life") and apparently we're very lucky as she "could be off getting drunk, smoking and taking drugs!" Oh, and it's also the way we brought her up so it's all our fault.
Her brother (16) is, as always has been, a delight. Brought him up too!!

300Bananas · 28/03/2015 08:28

Yes I get that one too. We should be grateful she's not out doing drugs and getting drunk! DS18 is lovely so we must have done something right.

Gymbob · 28/03/2015 10:17

I have two of them. they are awful, the 15 year old is selfish beyond belief and she tells me I am like no other parent. she changes the subject of a conversation half way through to make it about her. she isn't interested in anything unless she will benefit, then it's suddenly all smiles.

me and dh have just diagnosed her with facebook depression! I'm only half joking.

is it too early for wine?

JKMUM999 · 28/03/2015 18:36

It's never too early for wine! When DS was that age, and being the devil child, I was self prescribing a bottle an evening!!! 6 o clock was wine-o-clock!! He's fabbo now, yours will be too!! It's just the bumpy ride!!! When they're arsing, picture the baby they were, and have a chuckle!! Yes, easy for me to say now, but promise I've served my time!!

EquinoxEclipse · 28/03/2015 18:44

They're mostly all hideously selfish, it's the nature of the beast! My dd has always been a model child, at all stages - but now at almost 18 she is horribly selfish and doesn't even know that. I'm just riding it out. Trouble is, we have another 3 to go...

300Bananas · 28/03/2015 18:49

Wine sounds good but unfortunately I am on driving duties as DD is going to a party. I am expecting another row when I tell her that I am picking her up at 11.30 though as thats far too early!

Have one for me :)

Sparklingbrook · 28/03/2015 18:50

My selfish 15 year old is out of the country. Wine Being all lovely and nice to the teachers no doubt. Hmm

3catsandcounting · 28/03/2015 21:20

Ah yes, Sparkling - but as we all know, how they are with other people is the person they really are and the one will grow into! (I always think of braces when I see your name; I'm going through it again in a couple of months with DC2 - yay!!

3catsandcounting · 28/03/2015 21:21

*how they will Greco into.

3catsandcounting · 28/03/2015 21:22

Bloody hell. "How they will grow into"!!!! Greco? I had a Greco twin buggy!! Grin

3catsandcounting · 28/03/2015 21:23

I've also had quite a bit of wine.

Sparklingbrook · 28/03/2015 21:24

Me too 3cats DS2's appointment is in June, the same as DS1's last retainer review. Here we go again.....

I hope DS1 turns into the person he is when he speaks to people out of the house. Grin

ssd · 28/03/2015 21:26

thats a nice thought!!

there is hope!

Of course he will - they save up all their vitriol especially for us! Apparently, it's because they feel so incredibly secure with us that they can behave like this. (that security is seriously on the wobble, I can tell you!)

FuckYouChrisAndThatHorse · 28/03/2015 21:31

Oh God yes to the subject changing!

Dh an I will be discussing something, like the attendance of an upcoming funeral, and DS will just cut across it.

Dh: so what time is the wake?

Me: we'll go straight after the serv...

DS: do you think this hat makes my hair look stupid?

Me: ds now isn't the time, we're just trying to sort the arrangements for the funeral.

Ds: you never want to talk to me!

5 minutes later

Me: ds your hat looks lovely.

Ds: I'm trying to snapchat!

Angry

He'll wake up soon, right?! Right?!

I miss my lovely cuddly boy who says, "I love you too" when I tell him I love him, and not "Cringe!"

300Bananas · 29/03/2015 21:44

Right now I cant think of a single thing I like about my DD. Honestly, nothing. Thats the way she makes me feel with her selfishness and couldnt give a shit about anyone but me attitude.

When will it end?

Gymbob · 29/03/2015 22:15

and here we are at the Easter hols, I am so much looking forward to having them at home for 2 weeks, I can't fucking tell you.

when you find out the precise day, time and year this will end 300, please let me know. I'll be in my bunker with wineWine

Sparklingbrook · 29/03/2015 22:18
