I know its a pain but better you take them than they hitch or get lost. Least you will know they are safe

DD turned up unexpectedly on Sunday night at about 8ish. Turned out she'd just come home for something and was going back to bf's house (where she lives). Got to 9.30 pm, middle of Torchwood I'd been looking forward to seeing "can you take me to the station".

It's the last-minuteness that bugs me. I don't mind so much with advance warning

my parents never had a car, and i did ok. just scabbed lifts off other people's mothers!!

i think your ds needs to learn to be a little bit more resourceful. if he was at the skate park, didn't he have a board/rollerblades with him?
