Official reprimand instead of caution - what is it?

Hi
Trying to understand difference between a caution and an official reprimand from police. Crime non violent (working out class mate's login and tinkering with their profile). Anyone any experience?

Not sure but perhaps a caution is more formal and goes on his record?

No experience, but I suggest you post on the Legal Matters board. There are some lawyers who post on there who would probably be able to tell you.

In Scotland, an official reprimand would be like a slap on the wrist/warning.
