Wedding outfit for tomboy DD(13)?

DD(13) needs an outfit to wear to DSis's wedding in May.

She's not interested in clothes and just wears jeans, trainers and a hoody all the time. She doesn't have any smart clothes at all and I'm loathe to spend a lot on an outfit that she'll never wear again. But needs must.

I've broached the idea of her wearing a dress but she's saying she doesn't want to. She needs to feel comfortable so I'm not going to push it, but I'm at a loss really. Confused

Any ideas please?

What about a jumpsuit? When I got married we had a best woman and she wore a black jumpsuit (black tie wedding). Your DD would have lots of options on the high street - maybe even a playsuit with opaque tights underneath?

Topshop and River Island usually have lots to choose from. Also maybe try ASOS?

I was going to say jumpsuit! Or how about tailored trousers and a blazer?

Or even shorts? Nice tailored shorts with black opaque tights and a shirt tucked in. Zara do lovely shirts like that. I teach in a secondary school and shorts with tights are v popular on non-uniform days used to wear them myself when younger and skinnier.

She's a little bit chunky so maybe tailored trousers and a jacket would look better than shorts. Thanks. I'll have a look at New Look too as they're quite reasonable for something that's only going to be worn once.

Dd last wore skinny black trousers, white shirt, skinny black tie and a black fitted jacket

Looked very nice if a little unusual but showed her personality whilst still being smart

I know people say not to wear black to a wedding but high waisted black trousers with a blouse tucked in could work
