Last week I ended up being approached by the mum of one of my daughter's ex friends whilst at a school sports match. My daughter keeps this ex friend at a distance as she's a habitual liar and I just tolerate the mother for easiness.
She started telling me her really nasty opinions about her daughter's best friend, some things I was shocked to hear especially as her DD relies so heavily on that relationship. I didn't respond however, thinking that it was none of my business. Nor did I repeat what she'd said to anyone.
My dd comes home from school to tell me her ex-friend is going round telling all the girls at school that her mother told her I'd been saying those things and I'm absolutely furious. I've been onto her to give her a piece of my mind and now have to speak to the other girl's mum to explain. I can't believe I've had to become embroiled in this family's lies.
