Teenager and friend home alone?

Would you let your teen (14) bring a mate home from school with him when you're not around - though will be back in an hour? Teen is fine, I know his friend and he seems ok but don't know him or his family that well.

Hide your favourite biscuits, set the ground rules and warn of consequences if they don't respect your home and your trust. IME giving my stepson a bit of freedom at that age made him behave and gave me just a teeny bit of a 'cool' rating...

Providing you can trust them both, and are reasonably sure they will follow any ground rules.

Yes I would. My 13yo Yr9 DS is regularly on his own for a couple of hours. Certain friends are also allowed it be here but only a couple that I know well, others would be allowed if I was due to be home shortly.

If you trust your DS then you probably trust his choice of friend too?
