Aaarrrgghh, she's breaking my heart! How can she stop feeling lonely?

DD is 16. She's wonderful, honestly, I couldn't wish for a better daughter.

Shortly after she finished her GCSE's, she had a big falling out with her group of friends, other than her two besties, one of whom is away on a 4-week adventure course thingy, and the other is on holiday in Scotland with her family.

So, she's really lonely Sad She has another 6 weeks until she starts college, and is so bored and down, I don't know what I can do for her.

I said I would start a thread on here and see if anyone can think of a way to help the time pass. She's watched loads of tv, played games, done loads of reading, knitting, drawing, writing etc.

She hates any kind of fuss, but it's hard not to hold her to my bosom and tell her everything will be alright Grin

It will be though, won't it?

Aww poor girl. Decorate her room? Photography project? Volunteer at a local charity shop? Look at local volunteering opportunities? Try do-it. Could s he do informal work experience with family/ friends? Great for cv's. Get paid by you to do some decluttering? Good luckThanks

She's definitely at a good age to do some work experience if she can get a placement. We take lots of pupils over the summer hols and as well as getting great experience it's good for them to see a world beyond their immediate circle, esp when there are problems.

Horrible being lonely Hmm

Is there anything you can do to help her resolve the argument with the school friends ?

Also what contacting local councils for holiday activities ? We have trampolining & sailing activities where we are, something like this would at least get her out making new friends.
