HPV vaccine, what's the score, it is compulsory ?

DD is 12, got a letter to bring home today. I am busy googling as know little about it.

Anyone decide not to go ahead? if so why.

I agree. I was a straight A student. Considered very sensible etc. My parents would be horrified to know the age at which I became sexually active enough to be at risk from hpv.

exactly what adeucalione said.

I knew of lots of girls age from 13 upwards that were sleeping/sexual contact with bfs and some that were sleeping around, who definitely hadn't told their parents, before or after.
Have things changed that now they all inform their parents beforehand? Doubt it.
Surely that's the reason that it's age 12?

I have a dd who is needle phobic. She had them. We told the school who were very good. They took her in, on her own, half an hour before everybody else so that she had time to get used to the idea and to recover. She has ASD too, so the extra time etc. really helped.
