Niece (almost 17) coming for weekend. What to do ?

My Niece is coming for the weekend next month. i'm in central London. Have planned shopping (Topshop?)Theatre,pizza takeaway. Any more ideas from mums of teenage girls. Clearly want to avoid underage drinking fest but give her a taste of the big city at the same time. What do 16 year olds do / talk about??? (I'm 31, BTW so it's been a while....)

Any thoughts welcomed - thanks

Shopping should do it I expect
You could do Ox St starting at Topshop and work your way down to Selfridges
I also loved the Kings Rd at that age

leave her with the kids and go out and enjoy yourself?

how about a facial for the both of you? both get to relax and at that age she's probably quite into it. Or go to a make up shop and get a make over?

We took DD to London a couple of years ago (she was nearly 16)& booked a personal shopper at Top Shop - didn't spend anything in the end(???!!!! - much to my amazement) but she absolutely loved the whole trying on different things/being the centre of attention. Saves having to wait for cubicles & you can sit down while she's moggling the stuff !!! Know mine wouldn't have been so keen on a make over (bit self conscious) but manicures always go down well, as do "brunch" & afternoon tea type things in places she's not been to (mine had never been to starbucks!). HTH

At that age my DD was desperate to go to Covent Garden. Finally got there with her mates aged 17 and took loads of photos of themselves sitting outside cosmopolitan looking cafes and talked about it for weeks afterwards. They are northern country kids, so it was a huge adventure.

Well. it went really well. Topshop, theatre, covent garden ( this went down really well themoon- but hey. who doesn't enjoy a half-naked, topless man painted green and standing still in the middle of the street....) gym, more food.

I'm knackered now, don't seem to have the stamina of me teenage years.....
