I am after one that covers stds, relationships, porn etc, not a basic one as I am sure he will tell me he knows everything! We had the lets talk about sex book around 4 years ago.

I saw a few on amazon but they were published around 7/8 years ago

The Let's Talk About series is what we have used to help us educate and inform our children. As far as I know, Let's Talk About Sex is the most ... erm... in depth volume in the series. I don't know of a more detailed book. DS1 (14) has been learning about STDs at school in PHSE. We have had chats with him about porn and how it is unrealistic and exploitative. The only thing I can think of is that Channel 4 did a TV series aimed at this age group couple of years ago. Might be available on DVD?

The lets talk about sex book we had was the walker book aimed at ten plus.

I don't know but maybe you could look for suitable sites on the internet - different sites for different issues.

If my dc's school is anything to go by, PHSE will have left no stone unturned! I really do think your ds will at least have a good idea about most of what you've mentioned.

It would be unusual to have a book aimed at this age group, I think. If you have any worries about a particular issue, why not just talk to him about it?

I think you are probably right about there not being any aimed at 16 plus. I can't remember how extensive the lets talk about sex book was as it seems to have disappeared from the house. The front cover looks a bit childish so I don't think he would be interested in reading it again anyway.

Websites will be more aimed at 16+ than books.

How about the NHS website - www.nhs.uk/Livewell/Sexandyoungpeople/Pages/Sex-and-young-people-hub.aspx

Thank you - that looks perfect. Hopefully he will have a look!
