Depressed and unemployed young adult

Has anybody got experience of a negative, unmotivated, depressed unemployed young adult who cannot see or hear that there are opportunities, it just takes time, and who cannot see a future, and has a reason why nothing will work - apprenticeships, work, training, voluntary work. I don't know what to do to make her see her life isn't so bad, she suffers social anxiety, but obviously the more she hides away, the worse it gets; something she acknowledges.

How old is she? Poor thing Hmm

20, she hated School but did reasonably well because she had almost 100% attendance, problems started once she went to college, two, both of which she dropped out. Since then she has had two very short term jobs that haven't worked out.

If she is not comfortable interacting with her peers/has no confidence, is she comfortable with children or animals? Could she do some volunteer work with either to give her a purpose and reason to get out of bed in the morning?

what did she used to enjoy doing before she got so insular?

Could there be a medical reason for her situation (depression, etc)?

Go to your GP.

Depressed people need help. She is now in a downward spiral of depression/feeling useless that just fuels the depression. Make an appointment for her today.
