Ok so feel a bit silly writing this as I should know, but just can't remember! DD 10 has been saying her boobs hurt and are boney (she actually has no boobs of any sort) been saying this for few weeks and I just said "oh growing pains" now today she said it again and I looked and one nipple appears to of changes, size/colour/inverted and when you touch it hard lump underneath why she says hurts

Now is this what happens to little girls ???

It's absolutely normal.

Phew thank you exexpat, thought I should remember about these things but I don't, she is my oldest so just starting out in the puberty stage

Yes, but it's so young... I looked at my daughter dancing in the garden with a friend, and her t-shirt looked all wrong. I felt so sad for her. My first thought was of all the dirty old men peering at her. I wasn't wrong either - the following year the caretaker of her school was arrested for taking photos of her school's netball team in the changing rooms. I was so happy that I had bought her some of those daft training bras!

Madeofkent - bloody hell that's awful!!!!! Thank god hecwS caught!!!

I agree very young, my dd is very petie for her age and I sort of thought she would be like me (boobless until I implants at 25) plus she has danced and done gymnastics at competition level for 8 years now so kinda thought she would be a flat chested ballerina!

She is also a huge tomboy especially when it comes to clothes and wouldn't wear a croptop as she says they annoy her!!! But I brought her some of Xmas and have carefully explained that now she is getting older and growing and especially when she goes to secondary in September she will need to be wearing them

10 is exactly the 'average' age to start budding. Periods are supposed to start 2 years later.

My niece will be 10 next month and she definitely has breasts now.

10 was normal 30+ years ago - it's nothing new!

Sounds like her bee stings are on the way.

Dd is 10 and I've finally persuaded get grudgingly into a bra.
He whole shape is changing. She's 5' tall as well so she is looking very grown up.
