fainting in teenagers

my dd aged 18 has fainted twice in 24 hours. was wondering what could be the cause?

suelouise there could be a multitude of things that cause this. Best bet would be to get her to the GP. Hope she's feeling better soon.

my dd used to faint wasn't all the time was when she was due her periods she went on the pill , take your dd to the doctors fainting is not normal hope she is ok

Is she a regular fainter? It's not unusual in teenage girls. I was and so was my sister. DS1 faints now and then.
If she doesn't have a history then I'd think about seeing a doctor. Does she have heavy periods? Is she vegetarian? Could she be anaemic?

Overwork, crap diet, poor sleep hygiene. DD 17 fainted a couple of times last month, so she was dragged to the GP ("you WILL go, or there'll be no provisional driving license") and after the usual questions was told to take it easy, have some vitamins and iron-bearing food and stop caning the gin.
