DD1 starts next week. I was brought up in another country so have no idea what to expect. She's doing A levels.

Good fun - more independence, better relationship with teachers - you are treated more as grown ups than children and greater expectation that you are good role models but with that comes more hard work - it is a fun time though

You are expected to spend a lot of time in independent study - so although scheduled timetable hours seem few, there will be a lot of studying expected.
