Whats the reason for this stupid habit?

my kids always pull out their pockets of the swimming trunks. It looks like.. it looks ugly, these white things.. i told them to leave them inside but everytime they leave the water it's hanging out!
Why they do this? Have you similar problems?

Haven't seen this particular fashion but then the idea of lowering my blubber into cold water isn't really doing it for these days .

Its the pants showing that makes my teeth itch. Ooo I just want to grab hold and put their trousers up. But as I only have DD'sthat would be very inappropriate .
