summer jobs for 19 year olds

my son will be finishing his first year at uni in may and wants some summer work can he sign on for job seekers and get temporary or agency work through them?

He can't sign on for jobseekers if he is a student but he can register with an agency for summer work. DD1 did this and got some factory work that paid quite well.

When I was in that position, I did bar work, fruit picking and firework packing! You just need to ask /phone around lots in plenty of time.

Hope he gets something sorted. The extra cash made university a lot more affordable for me

No to JSA, but yes to agency work.

Also sending out CVs and covering letters NOW.

Supermarkets often want shelf stackers and you can often transfer the job back to the uni town if he wants.
