my 12 year old son is nearly 6ft tall

I'd be interested to hear of any others with exceptionally tall sons. My son started his puberty growth spurt at 10, his voice had broken by 11 and a half, and he now stands at almost 6ft (he is 12 and a half now). Can I expect him to be near the end of his upward growth? His dad was fully grown at 13. I do really feel for my son towering over his peers, but he appears unbothered, as does my GP.

My husband was always the tallest in his year. He quite liked it. He's now 6ft 7. Buying clothes is a pain though

My just turned 11 yr old is 5'8 with size 11 feet. He is definitely starting puberty.
He has always been much taller than his peers, and seems to be shooting up month by month.

I was always the tallest in my class at primary and the tallest girl at secondary (am 5'11). DH was 'normal' sized though and is 'only' 6'1. He says he was nowhere near as tall as DS at that age, and started puberty much later.

I think we have a giant on our hands

thanks for the info surromummy13. This calculates that my son will be
6ft 1 tall. He is this tall now at 13. Do you think this means he's more or less fully grown?

would be interesting to see how tall those from posts in 2015 are now. I think my son is pretty much done as he has been shaving for a couple of months now and looks like an 18 year old. Feel sorry for him sometimes as no-one believes he is only 13.

I'd be interested too - my 9 year old (10 in May) is 5'1 and has size 6 feet.

My son just turned 11 and is 5'9" 148 lbs size 9 shoe and his hands and head is bigger than mine, I'm only 5'11" and his mother 5'6" but both mine and his mother's fathers were tall, her father 6'8" 260 and mine was 6'5" 240.. he's started puberty at 10, voice change and got the smells a little self-conscience but overall he's very athletic basketball, running, swimming, boxing and all the other kids look up to him, so it's all good , I hope he grows to 6'8"

Hi just wondering how tall your son is now? My son is now 14 (15 in September) and is 6 foot 2.5, so he does seem to be slowing down a little. Still in a size 11 shoe.

Hi. My is 13 in a few weeks. He's 5ft 9. Me and ds are 5ft 4 and 5ft 5 😂. He loves to poke fun at us and asks if he is adopted .

Hi everyone it's been a few years since I last posted and just wanted to update on my sons growth. He is now 15 years and 5 months and is just over 6 foot 3, still a size 11 shoe. Thinking hes probably got another inch or so to go but who knows!! He's grown about 2 inches over the last 2 years.
How tall did are your sons now?

Yep very much. Always tallest in class. All grown up now - 19 plus.

My gorgeous 13 yr old son is about 5’ 10” or 11” with collosal size FIFTEEN trainers!! (All good if you’re into basketball which he is, try prodirect website but I think a 15 is as big as we saw for rugby boots) I went to dr today to talk about getting my sons checked as I think they may have adhd. When in conversation I said how big his feet were (I’ve always been q proud of his height and have found his quickly growing massive feet quite amusing!) but the dr was actually worried! He said there may be growth hormone issues as a 13 yr old shouldn’t have size 15 feet 😔. He’s always been very big for his age, the HV thought he was overweight (I was solely breastfeeding!) but refused to measure his height in comparison to the weight 🙄) I actually got q upset after the appointment. I adore him and am so proud of what a wonderful, tall, strong gorgeous boy he is, I felt very protective and worried that they may make him feel like there’s something wrong with him, with is the last thing he needs. Am fine to get him checked out, but I hope it’s done sensitively. dr also said other symptoms that I put down to adhd might be to do with it? Am a bit bemused, does anyone else know about this shizzle?
