DD has been wearing thick black eye liner (top & bottom)

I have suggested that mid/light brown on just the bottom would be better for everyday/school & to leave the other for when she is in a show or evening

But no I am wrong, I am always wrong

But the other day she came & said 'You were right about the eye liner' apparently after I put my foot down & made her wear brown to a family event everyone who saw her told her how lovely she looked

But apparently I'm still wrong - about something else this time

Still I'm getting an easier run than my mum did; I was totally impossible as a teen!

Same with my DD and her hair, which she always straightened to within an inch of its life until one day a hairdresser persuaded her to have it dried to add volume and curls. Everyone said how nice it was.
I'm wrong about everything else though.

We struggled with one of my DDs in particular for years.
School uniform was the worst.Occasional letters from school about it.
Skirts too high,wearing a belt,earrings too big etc etc.
She did grow up at about 19 though,and is now very sensible,so I consider myself fortunate.
Your DDs will probably turn out fine. eventually

Agree with DameEnid....we are sad, old women who know nothing. None of us were ever young, none of us understand, it's, like, totally different from your day, etc, etc, etc.

my step daughter once said to me and her Dad "you have absolutely no idea what it is like to be 17" .....
