DD has never had a very close friend, but a group of casual friends that blow hot and cold with each other. She can be possessive and fiercely loyal but also extremely irritating and apathetic and would imagine she drives them potty tbh.

Her old school friends are seemingly interested purely in going out, getting trashed and attracting men much like me at 18 but dd isn't. She says she would rather have nights out like me, drinking, chatting, laughing, maybe a meal, maybe dancing, but relaxed and fun.

She's recently started full time work having left an A level course to do so but unfortunately there is nobody under mid-late 20s there and even they have a family and no social life.

She seems white depressed, has been messed about hugely by het kind of ex, I could start a huge thread on relationships about that one, and really needs something new to focus on.

I can't think how she could make more friends tho! I suggested a bar/restaurant job at a weekend purely for the social side but while she agreed it is a good idea, she's not attempting to look for one and lies around in her pjs watching Jeremy Kyle, CBB and the like all weekend, moaning about her life.

Any ideas hugely appreciated.

She is out-of-sync with her generation if she is working FT at 18. She sounds depressed - her school friends didn't interest her and now her work colleagues don't.

What have been her interests (over the years), the things she has been passionate about (even if she had dropped them now)?

Maybe she could do a foundation degree in something she's interested in - make up? animal welfare? textiles? - at a uni where she'll have to move away from home and be flung into halls of residence with piles of others her age who initially have no friends either.
