Just got to the teenage stage, so worried that most of the posts are about difficult teens. Anyone got any good points they could share?

They cook meals and make cups of coffee for you; clear out the garage and lay the fire/chop logs.
They are the best company, for conversation and watching TV/films, and on holiday.
They solve all the computer techy problems.
You can see all their wonderful potential unfolding in a major way.
They still give hugs.

(This is after they've come through all the rubbishy bits of having teens.)

great thread
I have a challenging dd at the min ( I am hopeful it will change with time) and one that has her moments.
That doesn't mean we don't have good times we just need to dig a bit deeper to find them and hold on tight to them when we have one.
Sharing grown up movies
Fantastic sense of humour
Easy company with adults
more independence
Great cooks
Opinions that make you think
Being needed during friendship/boyfriend problems (cake sharing moments)
Watching them grow in every way
Seeing their pleasure with each success
They can now walk our big dog on their own, very helpful when chucking it down with rain.
Many more I am sure but must go and do some work.

They are hilarious, often unintentionally. Yes, they're smelly oiks who need a lot of managing, but boys in particular are so sweet at that age - they want to be men but they still want a hug! Plus I have someone to watch the Mighty Boosh with when the little ones have gone to bed, and he's now at the age where we might even go to the odd gig together...as long as I walk ten paces ahead and never acknowledge him in public!
