im the mum of a 15 yr old girl, last year she was really concerned about her weight, i took her to the doctor who told her her BMI was in a healthy range.
Since then she stopped binge eating (and was making herself sick) as she was using food as a comfort, over the last month or so shehas hardly ate she doesnt eat breakfast (that i can accept) school lunches are coming home in her bag and she picks at her evening meal.

since friday (last 4 days) shes eating basically nothing said she feels sick and no appetite I want to take her to doctor again and i ve also tried coaxing, going mad at her and ignoring.prob sound so thick writing this has anyone had issues with teens not eating i think i was less worried when she was binge eating to the outside world she comes across as a normal teenager shes polite her school work is good and she has lovely friends.
anyone got any experiences please ?

Sounds like anorexia, I'm afraid. She needs to see her GP and get a referral to your local Eating Disorders Unit.

My 13 year old has been anorexic for 2 years. She was in an EDU for nearly 6 months last year but is still struggling.

Your daughter sounds like she is in severe danger of developing anorexia. She may not be there yet (it's a good sign that she doesn't seem to be too secretive with you) but, if you can get her help early on, she could be spared years of hell.

Don't dismiss it as typical teenage girl behaviour (I'm not saying you are!), you are definitely right to be concerned. Many many anorectics seem 'perfect' to most people, perfectionism is a very common trait with teenagers in eating distress. My daughter is academic, sporty, artsy, has plenty of friends, a stable home life .. but still, she stopped eating at 11.
