What social networking sites do teenagers actually use?

I thought Facebook was considered a bit passé (though some of my nieces/nephew still seem quite plugged into it) and that Twitter tended to be for old people like me. A friend tells me Piczo is popular... Would be interested to hear your views.

Another one for Facebook - DS is 18 and that seems to be the main site in use for his circle at least

DS is on facebook. He joined twitter a while ago but it doesn't seem to have gripped him in the way that FB has.

Never heard of Piczo.

DS very disdainful of Facebook but doesn't seem to use an alternative.

Ive just googled Piczo ,its very similar to Tumblr

Piczo was a popular website used around 3 years ago, now it is definitely Facebook, tumblr and twitter

Thanks v much for your posts/thoughts, looks as if my friend is about as out of touch as me re Piczo. Sounds like Tumblr is where it's at. I shall have a proper dig around now. thanks again folks

Pizco was about four or five years ago with mine. Then it was MySpace, and now Facebook for a long time. None can be bothered with Twitter and only one with Tumblr.

MY 18 yrold uses twitter shes tweet obsessed and facebook but mostly twitter , dd2 uses facebook sometimes dd1 uses another 1 but i cant remember what its called

DD3 19 uses Facebook. She has got a twitter account but never uses it. DD2 uses Facebook and used to use Twitter a lot but she doesn't often use it now.

my 15 yr old DD uses facebook most and twitter sometimes

Mine and all her friends use Facebook all the time, never Twitter; some also use wassup social groups, but I am not sure quite how that works. She's 17 - my 13 year old also uses FB, but less intensely.

My DD went from Myspace and Xanga, to Facebook and Livejournal, and now Twitter and Tumblr. She uses Twitter for speaking to classmates, professional networking (by this she means pestering local law firms for internships... [wince]), and in general her public persona, and Tumblr for the angsty personal stuff.
That seemed to be what she did with the other pairs of sites above, too.
