OP posts:
WigWamBam · 03/01/2006 16:47

They're pants, for heaven's sake! What's wrong with them?

RTKangaSantaMummy · 03/01/2006 16:51

I wonder if his photo has been airbrushed like those ones someone posted a while ago

But honestly if you are for real - why are you worried ???????????

They are his choice leave him alone!!!!!!!!!!

pckawatford · 03/01/2006 17:31

Does any bodys son wear thongs?

OP posts:
starlover · 03/01/2006 17:32

plenty of boys/men wear thongs! if they didn't places like next wouldn't sell them!

i really don't see the issue with what pants your son wears! it isn't a big deal at all...

DUH.... WHICH WOULD YOU RATHER A 14 YEAR OLD BE DOING?????????????????????

WigWamBam · 03/01/2006 17:46

My point exactly, Kanga. Wearing thongs isn't exactly in the same league as taking drugs, is it!

4blue1pink · 03/01/2006 17:49

No but i would neither want my 14 boy or girl wearing them - they are a 'sexy' item rather than practical and 14 is too young...(ducks!)

WigWamBam · 03/01/2006 17:51

They're only sexy if they're covered in lace, spangles and slogans, and if someone else other than the 14 year old in question is getting to see them! And I presume that's not the kind of thing that we're talking about here, otherwise the OP would presumably have said so before now.

4blue1pink · 03/01/2006 17:52

I think they are sexy anyway - certainly i would be suspicious if dp suddenly sported a pair - even a plain old grey marl pair

WigWamBam · 03/01/2006 17:55

Just my opinion, but I still think that there are 1001 worse things to be worried about than what pants a teenager is wearing ...

TambaTheDragonSlayer · 03/01/2006 17:57

Hes washing them himself? Fab! There needs to be more men in the world that can operate a washing machine

I have to admit that i think this is a wind up too but if not, maybe he is just confused at the moment, hormones and stuff?

ItllBeLonelymumThisChristmas · 03/01/2006 17:58

All pants are sexy if you want to see them that way. After all, they are covering the genitalia.

I can't imagine why anyone would want to wear thongs, especially men as they hardly seems to be enough material to hold the tackle in IYSWIM, but I would not be worrying about my ds wearing them. I would be thrilled if my ds showed the slightest interest in any of his clothing, even his underwear. But only 4 more years to wait maybe!

tillykins · 03/01/2006 18:34

my pants aren't sexy

Carmenere · 03/01/2006 18:39

I think you are all missing the real point here. Thongs on men are WRONG and if I found my son secretly wearing them I would be horrified. I mean why, oh, why would a young man want to dress in the style of Peter Stringfellow???
Infact this is what makes the whole thread likely to be a win up as it is just too improbable

pckawatford · 03/01/2006 20:20

but my son has bunked off school and he has a police reprimand for stealing mobile phones!!!!

if my son is wearing thongs does this make him crazy????

OP posts:
spacedonkey · 03/01/2006 20:21

yep

Crystaltips · 03/01/2006 20:36

pckawatford - I'll give you the benefit of the doubt - not sure if this is a wind-up ( can't read whole thread as playing monopoly with dd at the same time as posting - )

If they are on the Next MENS website - then obviously there is a demand for them....

I don't blame him washing them himself ..... I have worn thongs - and by their very nature .... ( cheese cutters ... ) they can get a bit mucky

NomDePlume · 03/01/2006 20:49

Shoot me down, if you like, but this smacks of troll - a new person asking MNers whether their children wear thongs ? Hmmmm.

PCKAWATFORD - You have asked for opinions, people have given them and the overwhelming concensus is that pants are not a HUGE concern. If you are genuinely worried about it then raise the issue gently with him. You can't blame people for being suspicious of your motives for posting this, it is a very perculiar concern, especially for a new poster.

NomDePlume · 03/01/2006 20:50

IMO your son's choice of undies has absolutely no bearing on any of his antisocial behaviour.

spacedonkey · 03/01/2006 20:50

NdP - it is a troll! He/she posted on my Teenagers thread last night with the same question.

NomDePlume · 03/01/2006 20:54

Ah, sorry SD. I missed that.

spacedonkey · 03/01/2006 20:56

sorry NdP - reading that back it sounds like I was snapping at you

NomDePlume · 03/01/2006 20:58

I didn't read it that way

Crystaltips · 04/01/2006 10:00

Doh
