Shoes - Too Big for Kids' ranges but Too Small for Adults' ?

Where should we be looking for size 6 casual trainers/trainers (not sporty or too trendy!) for ds (13). Have spent ages on www without success. He seems to have outgrown the size range for kids but many men's shoes only start from 7 and are more expensive, presumably due to VAT. Not much point spending a fortune when he is growing so fast.

I am having exact same problem with my son who is also a size 6, he wants new trainers, cannot find any in his size. Really frustrating, and prob expensive.

Sports Direct is very reasonably priced although not the widest selection. If you want different styles and can afford to go more expensive mail order catalogues like Littlewoods or Very are worth a look - nowadays you don't have to have a huge catalogue in your house, they have websites where you can open an account instantly. Hope this helps.

TK Maxx - they have loads of odd sizes that haven't sold in their original shops, so have quite a lot of mens size 6 in various styles.

The good news is that by sept he'll be a 7 at least! Meanwhile a pair of cheap non pink ladies trainers will do him eg a pair of Dunlop green flash or similar - enough street cre but not too spends and not girlie at all.

Is Clarks very uncool for that age group?

ds perceives Clarks as for school and yes even uncool enough for him ! He is coming around to the idea of Converse but even they are £37 + Shock Think we may need to visit TK maxx.

Just ordered some Merrell's from Clinkards - sizes in stock seem to fluctuate so worth checking a few times

try \link{http://www.mandmdirect.com/ProductList.aspx\mandmdirect} next time you're looking - they have quite a few. (Size 6 is a tricky one because it brings up infant 6 as well as large, but you can tell from the pic & description which is which!)

They're useful too for clothes for in-between sizes
