DD has started her Period today, and is due to go for a sleep-over WWYD?

As the title suggest, this morning DD had her first period, She is 11 and was a little upset/scared although we had "the talk" about a year ago so she knew what it was. I have taken the day off work today as DC's were due to go to DGF for the day, so we can see how she goes, and show her how to change pads etc.
It doesn't seem very heavy at the moment, but I am worried about her planned sleepover at her friends tonight. Should I tell her friends Mum? or not let her go? She has been really looking forward to it for ages.
WWYD?

Ask your dd what she would feel most comfortable with?
For many young girls, the first period is just a smudge/small amount so it may all be over now. :)

Thanks ladies
Great idea about the nappy bags, I will have to ring her Mum to let her know as I am dropping them at Pizza hut and that will not be the best place!!
