DD (13) has had 5 Monster energy drinks. What are the likely consequences?

DD has been to a promotions event in the local skate park by the Monster energy drink roadshow.
She told me she had had 7 drinks then said 5 because "they were free"
I expect she won't sleep tonight but what else should I be aware of?

She'll be fine- it's just a caffiene rush. She will probably be crashed out by midnight.

Are they like Red bull?

If so, then obviously they're high in caffeine but I wouldn't expect anything worse than her having difficulty sleeping.

If you're worried about her, send her out for a run for an hour, that'll wear her out

No pre-existing heart conditions.
I am not happy that they have just dished them out to children.
I have trouble getting her to go to sleep normally, never mind after so much caffeine.

Yes, she weighs more than 4 kilos

She will be bouncing off the ceiling for quite some time, but no ill-effects I wouldn't think. Just do what you can to calm her down - a bath, or a non-demanding film maybe?

Well, she eventually went to sleep, just after 1am. I went to bed at 11 and could hear her moving about in her room. DH kept going in and telling her to 'get to sleep'. As if that was going to work .
She told me that the promotions people wouldn't give any drinks out if they thought the child was under 14. DD is 13 but looks older, so she was getting them for her older friends who looked younger.
