Recent huge increase in number of spam/phishing emails coming into my junk suddenly 😳

… other than deleting this email or clicking the block sender button is there anyway to kill it?

Ive clearly not checked or unchecked a tiny box somewhere to prevent my info being passed on and someone’s selling the shit out of it now. I had 47 new ones this am alone!!! So annoying as normally I’m so hot on that kind of thing.

Same with my Hotmail account - bombarded with gambling emails, but also receiving a lot of spam phone calls too. I'm assuming a data breach somewhere but I don't have any answers on how to stop it. It's like whack-a-mole - block one and a new one appears.

Be careful as this may be a strategy to prevent you from noticing a genuine email e.g. if your Amazon account has been breached and an unauthorized purchase made.

I had this with a hotmail account and like you said I’d block them but they’d just reappear. Hotmail seems to be particularly bad for this sort of thing. It’s also outdated and I think a hotmail address signifies to people that you’re of a certain age. I didn’t find a solution other than to update my email address with contacts and mailing lists and then close the account. Gmail accounts are also free and seem a lot better.
