Locked out of Google account! How to reopen?

Lost my mobile phone recently, have a backup phone which was running rather slow. Thought I’d be clever & wipe the history - and managed to lose access to my Google account.
And the Gmail address with it.
Going round & round trying to reopen it but… how? The advice I get is “go to the recovery page & do what it says”.
I have: multiple times.
no joy.

Do you know your username and password for your google account?

I had the same problem I'm still locked out I lost all the books I'd paid for too ☹️ I had to end up making a new account

Had this with my Microsoft (Hotmail) account and never got back in unfortunately. I really sympathise!

I don't know the answer but this is the kind of thing AI can be good at. ChatGPT or Grok or even Google's search AI. Ask the question then tell it the error messages or dead ends. It helped me sort out an Amazon problem when I was going around in circles

Had you set up 2FA, so when your replacement sim arrives you can get the code on SMS? What was your recovery method, I have my daughters email address for a code to be sent too, after security questions

I lost my account because the backup email didn't exist anymore so there's nowhere to send a new code ☹️
