Tell me when AI is becoming excellent at solving problems, problems human cannot historically solve, that it can find a way to make clean plentiful energy?

This is what I don’t understand.

We’ve heard about engines that can run in water. I’ve read historically that they exist but are not allowed to be made, as that would cause the collapse of huge industries. In my head the climate emergency could be solved with a plentiful supply of clean energy, so why aren’t we using AI to solve this?

It feels like a huge amount of energy instead is going into ageing, so nobody dies or looks old in the future, but what the hell is the point of that if the planet is fucked? Lots of young, ageless people trying to exist somewhere between wildfires and floods.

We discovered it in the 1950s and then regulated it to death.

Given that AI can't even write a sentence that is better than one written by a human, I think you're being unreasonable.

There is no engine that can run on water. Are you confusing it with hydrogen powered engines? There is lots of movement there.

That sounds exactly like what I am confusing with! My understanding is basically that we could run cars off water, but it was blocked.

You might want to google what hydrogen is and the hydrogen research and tests like the Rolls Royce/Easy jet test and lookat Airbus. Nothing was blocked. Hydrogen just needs different handling, safety and engineering which is all being tested now. It's also very expensive resource
