Lots of text messages with ‘verification codes’

Over the past week I’ve had 6 text messages from various companies with a one time pass code or verification code. Got from NatWest, very, Vodafone and our club

there’s no links in the messages. Anyone know how I can stop this from happening or how to protect myself from fraud?

surely they only come in when youve been in a site and it says “we need to verify it’s you can we send a message to you with a code on it in for you to then enter on here” type thing.

no way i’d be clicking on random emails to verify. at the vet least i’d contact them myself using the contact details i usually do.

It’s possible someone is trying to access their accounts but have used your number by mistake (maybe a digit out). That’s the nicer version.

Personally, I’d be making my accounts extra secure, with harder passwords and 2FA just to feel safer. If you do receive a link you know not to click on it anyway.
