Apple watch telling me to standup at 1am! 🤬

WeAllHaveWings · 06/08/2025 11:00

Can't work out how to get my apple watch (I am new to any apple watch) to stop telling me to fecking stand up while I am sleeping.

I have set up in focus on my iphone (watch app setup to mirror iphone)

DND - 10pm - 7am
Sleep - 10pm - 7:15am

Any idea how to stop it sending stand up messages when sleeping without having to switch the function off every night (as I'll forget to turn back on and being in a desk job actually like the prompts)

3 nights in a row now it has woken me up!

Take it off and charge it overnight.

WeAllHaveWings · 06/08/2025 19:23

I was wanting to wear at night to see how it tracks my sleep

Which simply isn’t necessary and by the sound of things is only disturbing your sleep! Just take it off and charge it overnight OP.

The irony…! Get the tech out of the room I would…

WeAllHaveWings · 06/08/2025 19:27

Ok thanks for your suggestions, I would still like to see it tracking my sleep, if anyone has experience of the watch and how to stop the stand up automatically during DND would be appreciated.

This might help you get rid of it.

I thought I was going to kick the bucket a few times when the alert went off for low heart rate at night, and for fast rate at times during the day. Frightened the life out of me. I have cardiac arrythmia so I thought this would be great, I could see how bad it really is day by day. Nope not happening anymore, I disabled the alerts completely.

I never wear the watch in bed anyways. I sleep well thankfully and don't want to know that I didn't! 😊

xlexiix · 06/08/2025 19:33

On the health app do you have a sleep schedule set? I think that’s the magic bit

Very wise! ☺️

@Thanksman I hadn’t seen that article before, but have seen/done most of it other than restarting both so will give that a go.

@xlexiix yes, have sleep schedule and dnd schedule both set and can see them in both the watch app on my phone and on the watch itself

It was winzom who gave you the link OP, I just replied to winzom.

Good luck.

ChompandaGrazia · 06/08/2025 19:45

You have to manually set it to sleep. Pull down on the top right corner on your phone, then set the focus to sleep. Your watch screen should go blank and then come up with a large digital display when tapped.

RedRiverShore5 · 06/08/2025 19:46

I don't wear mine to bed, I don't need something else to worry about, it's safely downstairs on its charger.

WasherWoman25 · 06/08/2025 19:48

How odd! Mine doesn’t tell me to stand when sleep mode is on.

It's the invasive slippery slope of technology,

you'll be responding to your Oral toothbrush soon instructing you to replace the brush head when the bristles are no longer blue...

...I have. 😁

I mean, you could always do your 12 stands before you go to bed. Once you've closed that ring it doesn't to tell you to stand up any more.

But I'm in agreement with whoever said I don't need something else to worry about therefore I don't want it to track my sleep.

Neither does mine, the scheduled sleep hours, not manual.

Theres a ‘Sleep’ app on the phone, not sure it’s exactly the same thing as ‘focus’? Maybe that’s what you need to set

Oldieandgoldie · 06/08/2025 20:46

My Apple watch sleep app is almost always incorrect! Eg it tells me I was in a deep sleep at 5am, when in reality I was talking to my husband, when passing on our nocturnal loo visits.

ErrolTheDragon · 06/08/2025 20:53

Ah, it’s a long time since I set it up… the sleep app links through to Sleep focus in the Focus settings. do you have Apps notifications turned off in that? I’ve got that set to None allowed.

FortyFacedFuckers · 06/08/2025 20:55

Mine doesn’t do that but you can download the Apple support app and message them through it and they will talk you through how to fix it
