Downloading music from YouTube

Hi all

I am wanting to download music onto some CDs via an iPad. It means I will have to take from YouTube (I have checked - what I want to do is legal). I understand I need an app so am needing to know which app is safest. So I’m looking forward recommendations.

As I understand it in the UK, the premium version of YouTube allows downloads but it’s expensive. However, Audacity will allow you to record what is playing through the soundcard on a laptop (though it’s a tad more complicated on a Mac than on a Windows machine).

Media Human YouTube to MP3 converter. Free, simple install on a laptop, and it works. Not sure if it works on an iPad though.

Can you no longer burn to a cd from iTunes on a laptop?

@ProfessionalWhimsicalSkidaddler I have no idea. I have no idea how iTunes works. I am well out of my sphere of knowledge with this.

It used to be that on the laptop you could make a playlist and right click for the option burn to cd. 💿 the last time I did it was years ago but I just googled YouTube to mp3 converter. I’d use @FeralWoman‘s suggestion if it’s tried and tested.

My plan is to from go YouTube to thumb drive and add the lyrics and I think I can do it on the iPad. And from there to burning the cd. I have read that the burning of the cd will have to be via the laptop as the iPad doesn’t have the firepower for it.

What do you mean add the lyrics? Sorry if that’s obvious.

What exactly is it that you are trying to do?

Is it just music that you want, or video too. You mention lyrics which implies it's not just audio. A CD cannot hold anything other than pure audio.

Is it music or video that you want, and what device are you planning to play it on.

You say the iPad "doesn't have the firepower to burn a CD" which makes no sense - it absolutely does, it just lacks the ability to place a CD inside of it. Which makes me think you maybe don't actually want a physical CD?

I am going to download the songs onto a thumb drive, add a file with all the lyrics of each song and then burn cd’s with the songs. The sound system concerned only takes cds. And I will print out the lyrics into a file for the shelf, too. So, a bit of work to do.

And if you reckon my very brand new iPad can burn cds, I’m up for the challenge.

No video. But I want to make it as easy as possible for the very busy woman who is going to be working the whole thing. I’m just doing the creation.
