Pages - can’t resize text boxes or photos. What’s changed?!

I use Pages on my iPad to write a newsletter for a club that I belong to.

Until now I’ve been able to resize text boxes and photos by clicking on the blue dots on the outline of the box, however this time I tried and there are no blue dots!

Any idea what’s happened and how I do this now?

Have you tried creating a new document and attempt to re-create the issue?

And perhaps prove if the issue is related to the document or a possible change in the functionality of pages (unlikely)

Yes, it’s happened a few times in different documents.

i’ve even turned my iPad off and on again which is my only other IT fix with no success!
