Getting my mum's old phone in the early 2000s

A guy in my lecture hall getting a call on his in the middle of a lecture. Must have been 1995, no one had mobile phones!

My first was a giant Nokia brick where the sim was on a credit card you inserted into the bottom of the phone. My first vivid memory of it is trying to get it into a (generous) coat pocket so I didn't need to carry a bag, I broke the zip!

Loved loved loved my first iPhone 3, tiny one compared to my present one but still my favourite pocket sized phone. Did have Nokias before that from about 1998

I worked as a water clerk in a shipping office in the 1990s. I was working at another port I would have to go to the local carphone shop and collect the phone we had hired so I could keep in touch with the office. This was a handset attached to a massive battery. Something like this.

Probably in films when the actors had those huge brick - like mobiles.

I got my first one when I went to uni in 1999 - free with a student bank account I think! In sixth form the cool kids all had pagers but I never saw the point

Blokes with briefcases talking into massive handsets in central London.

1993 my boyfriend bought one of the huge ones in a brief case with an enormous battery, he proudly brought it into my shop to show me. Several years later we spent an entire day at a shopping mall while I decided beteeen the yellow or red little phone with the flip down front cover. The man had the patience of a saint.

phones have improved, sadly my indecision hasn't!! 🤣

Early 2000s I think... Nokia. Snake, WAP chat rooms, Purple Ronnie cover. Greensleeves!

Paying for ringtones and images that were advertised in magazines or somewhere. Bluetooth was a daily thing... Can't remember why.

About 2001 I got my first phone and I still have it in a draw.
Basic texting and calling only. Little did we know what was coming.
