HELP! I need to access messages on old Galaxy Young 2 phone

I have a very old samsung galaxy young 2 phone that half the screen is broken. Can still sort of make stuff out on the bottom half of the screen and the touch is working.

I'm in dispute resolution with someone and have some text messages on the phone that entirely refute what he's saying.

How can I access / download the text messages via PC. I would be so grateful to anyone who can help!!

Just plug it in and take a backup and then restore it onto a another phone ?

It won't back up the data, just settings (it's a rather old device)

I've just tried Coolmuster which would be perfect but doesn't recognise this device. Anyone know of a similar app that might work?
