Odd No Credit Card Statement Entry - Looks IT Related

Anyone good with IT?

I found a credit card entry for £88.94 on hubby's statement. Instead of a shop/company name it simply states "2907fe91-66a2-47bb-9f7 Brescia ITA"
which is a place in Italy. Hubby reckons its when he bought Pirelli bike tyres from Italy but it looks like a Wi-Fi router/ VPN number?? I'd expected a shop to appear if it's a retail purchase not a load of numbers.
Any idea?

That type of identifier is called a GUID - strictly speaking that's most of a GUID, I suspect that the rest of it got chopped off as it wouldn't fit in the description field on the credit card statement. They can be used in databases to create a unique identifier for any manner of thing - transaction, customer, etc. I suspect that's all this is - they've included some kind of internal ID in the description field.

It looks like the normal format for an electronic invoice number issued in Italy - the Fattura PA XML format. That, alongside the city name and country code, looks pretty standard to me (I also live in an EU country that mandates e-invoicing). Is there a reason you’re so suspicious?

gamerchick · 29/02/2024 21:36

Another thread OP? I don't think your bloke has done anything wrong.

atalost · 29/02/2024 21:51

Thanks you've been so helpful. He's just shown me the invoice so it all matches up.

I put this query on another topic in her and people were so bitchy saying I think he's cheating! No, I just dealt with fraud on my own card a few months ago

OP posts:
Sidebeforeself · 29/02/2024 21:53

So it was bike tires from Italy after all. Like your husband said

Theimpossiblegirl · 29/02/2024 21:55

No-one was bitchy but you were quite rude.

gamerchick · 29/02/2024 21:58

Nobody mentioned cheating OP.

SapphireOpal · 29/02/2024 22:12

No-one said he was cheating. We just thought it was odd that your husband told you what the transaction was and you didn't appear to believe him.

StSwithinsDay · 29/02/2024 22:18

I feel sorry for your husband.

BresciaBike · 01/03/2024 00:04

That money was spent on me, daaahhhling!

P.s. no-one was bitchy on the other thread but you called someone a cow within the first few posts.

Yup 🤣🤣 Just like he said

So , OP, are you going to apologise for being so rude on the previous thread?

Toomuchgoingon79 · 01/03/2024 06:43

Let's be honest you acted like you didn't believe him in the other thread and then was rude.

NoraBattysCurlers · 01/03/2024 07:01

@atalost, you were extremely rude on the other thread.

The only poster who was 'bitchy', as you refer to it, is the one you see when you look in the mirror.

Fannyfiggs · 01/03/2024 07:02

Calls someone a cheeky cow in the first post.

Makes another post because people were being rude... 🤔

Parrotseatthemall · 01/03/2024 07:06

Easy solve via checking your statement then? He bought tyres and the only purchase that didn't show was them...however there was a transaction on your statement for the same cost..✅ ✅

If you’d made it clear in your first thread that fraud was your concern then perhaps you would have got answers that were more helpful to you. As it was, it came across that you thought your husband was lying to you.

Watchkeys · 01/03/2024 08:44

How come you needed to check further, after he told you what it was? How come his word wasn't enough? I'm not saying this in an accusatory sort of way, I just wonder why 'Oh, OK, cool, thanks for clarifying that' wasn't what you said. He was obviously sure, if he had the invoice.

Looking forward to seeing the corresponding thread on Dadsnet from this lady's poor husband

Think ops sped off .

Or her DH saw the light and sped off on those Italian tyres.

The bank statement story is clearly a cover for the real issue which is one of trust
