Fitbit Versa 3 has died after washing arms!

Hi all, does anyone have a Fitbit Versa 3? I understand they are waterproof to 50m so thought nothing of washing my arms after gardening yesterday. It died shortly afterwards. Completely dead and unrevivable, with condensation showing in the charging area. I tried charging it and nothing happened other than it getting really hot. I've had it in rice overnight, and still nothing. She's dead Jim!

Support have offered me 35% off a new one which isn't great really - it's money I shouldn't have to spend.

So just wondering if they really ARE waterproof or I've just been unlucky? And any advice would be welcome, it was bought in March 2021 so just over 2 years old.

I have had my fit bit ( one of the cheapest ones) for 2 years, hardly ever take it off , have it on in the shower or bath every day snd its fine.

They are waterproof. But they're like your phone and you need to wait for them to dry off before charging them. So you've probably toasted it. Sorry.

I’m not sure what version mine is but I used to swim every day with mine on and the face is scratched. It never got condensation in it. Maybe leave it in rice a bit longer?
