Mobile broadband for travelling in the UK

Hey!

I hope someone here can help me please… I’ve been doing some research but would feel much more confident if I could run this past you guys!

So, we go on holiday in the UK a few times a year, mainly staying in holiday cottages, and the WiFi is usually AWFUL! We take our Amazon Fire TV Stick in the hope we’ll be able to watch our favourite shows in the evenings but more often than not we can hardly load Facebook on our phones, let alone stream Netflix!

I think the TP-Link M7350 with a Sim card in it looks like a good way forward. A lot of the data only sims are expensive packages but the Smarty doesn’t look too badly priced (though I’ve never heard of them before).

Has anyone else here got something like this for travelling in the UK please, or have any experience of Smarty?

Any advice or info would be very gratefully received!

Thank you 😀

You can use any sim for data only. Smarty is a reputable company that piggybacks off the Three network.

If you can’t get data on your phones, then that MIFI unit may not be able to get a signal either. You would need to try it in different locations. As high as possible is usually best.

If you really want an in-depth answer/recommendations, try asking here…

Just to add, if you are always going to have mains power available, then the non-portable 4/5G routers usually offer better performance than the portable MIFI units.
