Sending lots of texts at once

I've been tasked with investigating whether there's a free and quick way of sending a text to lots of people at once for our junior football club if, for example, training is cancelled. I feel like there SHOULD be but I can't work out how. Any ideas wise ones?

Group message on what's app?

You can turn group messaging off on an iPhone, so when you send to a list of recipients instead of sending as a group it sends individually. I'm sure android will have a similar feature depending on what phone you have.

If the group messaging option isn't there, then it would seem your service provider doesn't support it
