...or something else - which of these would you recommend for a newbie?

I want to set up a blog on political/social issues (not about the UK but about a 3rd world country).

I am looking for ease of use, low cost, security (of my personal info and from hacking).

I see this as a long term project and will also be creating social media accounts with the same name.

Any help appreciated.

I use Wordpress, it's very straightforward to use and seems to work better on mobile devices than blogger. No idea about tumblr as a blogger but as a reader I don't particularly like the interface.
