Pain/numbing creams

Hi all you brave ppl who have got tattoos!! I'm thinking of getting a tattoo....well it's a bit more than just thinking tbh; I've actually found my design and visited a nearly tattoo shop and had a consultation. So 'nearly' there!
I am concerned about the pain. I don't have a high pain threshold at all. I have had some ear piercings though and I have had 3 children , albeit by Caesarean section, which is no walk in the park but I haven't experienced labour pains. Just a bit of my back story re pain endured. Not much!
I dont want to be in the situation where I start the tattoo and then say/shout STOP NO MORE.
Any comments would be most appreciated and also ppl advise a numbing cream? If so can you recommend a good one?
Many thanks!

Hiya, I know this is old but I wondered if you got a tattoo in the end and what you used?
I have 4 but got them done over 15 years ago and want to get another. I have been recommended tktx numbing cream by the tattooist.

Hi yes I did. I got it done last wk in fact. I love it. Its on my forearm and I didn't use numbing cream in the end. Pain for me was about 2/3 out of 10. Its not a very large tattoo, it took approx 30/35 mins

I've used Emra before? Emla? Something like that. It was very effective but takes 20 mins or so to fully numb.
